JJWC LAUNCHES VIDEO DOCUMENTATION CONTEST FOR THE 15TH JJWA ANNIVERSARY

The Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) invites barangay-level local government units (LGUs) and duty-bearers to share in their good practices by joining the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (JJWA) Good Practice Participatory Video Documentation Contest.

“JJWC believes that the gains we have for the JJWA throughout its 15 years is a collective effort and dedication of all the member and coordinating agencies, non-government organizations, and most especially the local government units and duty-bearers, who are committed to build a better future for every Filipino children, including those at risk and children in conflict with the law,” Executive Director Atty. Tricia Clare A. Oco said.

The contest is one of the major activities lined up to celebrate the JJWA’s 15th Anniversary. It aims to recognize responsive, innovative, and sustainable practices and programs of LGUs on the proper implementation of Republic Act 9344 as amended amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic and in the new normal, as well as to create a venue for sharing good practices among LGUs and implementers.

This is open to all barangay local government units and duty-bearers/implementers. The focus of the documentation are the efforts of the local duty-bearers in ensuring the promotion and protection of the rights of children at risk (CAR) and children in conflict with the law (CICL) and in implementing the JJWA as amended in the context of COVID-19 Pandemic and the new normal.

The criteria for selection of winners will be based on content (70%) and presentation (30%).

The top three winners will receive cash prizes of P75,000 for 1st place, P50,000 for 2nd place, and P35,000 for 3rd place.

Other recognitions are two consolation prizes, special awards of Audience Choice and Best Production and Editing amounting to P15,000 each.

Awarding of winners will be on June 15, 2021, at 10:00 am via Zoom.
