The Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System (GFPS), equipped the capacity of its GFPS members and staff on gender analysis tools during a five-day workshop held on May 25 – 29, 2026 in Clark, Pampanga.
The activity capacitated the participants with practical tools and strategies to better integrate gender perspectives into the agency’s programs, projects, and activities (PPAs). Sessions covered the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG), Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) and the development of GAD-attributed programs and proposals.
As part of the workshop, participants reviewed the agency’s 2026 GAD Plan and Budget to ensure that identified gender issues are effectively addressed and that all planned interventions remain gender-responsive.
Among the key initiatives identified for implementation are: Conduct of Study in the Relationship of Pornography Exposure and Sexual Offending among children in conflict with the law (CICL), Baseline Study on CICL transferred to Bureau of Corrections Facilities, Customized Integrated Care Management Protocol Training for JJWC employees, Evaluation of the Comprehensive Local Juvenile Intervention program of LGUs in Metro Manila, Monitoring of Detention Facilities, Mental Health Program, 20th Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act Anniversary, Juvenile Justice and Welfare Consciousness Week Celebration, Child Participation Validation, and Juvenile Justice Management and Information System Implementation and Technical Assistance.
Through these efforts, JJWC continues to strengthen gender mainstreaming across its policies, processes, and services, ensuring a more inclusive and responsive interventions for children and stakeholders. The agency is also set to develop its three-year GAD Agenda in the third quarter of 2026 to further advance its commitment to gender equality and social inclusion.
