BAHAY PAG-ASA


Bahay Pag-Asa is a 24-hour child- caring institution established, funded and managed by local government units (LGUs) and licensed and/or accredited non-government organizations (NGOs), providing short-term residential care for children in conflict with the law, who are above fifteen (15) but below eighteen (18)years of age, and who are awaiting court disposition.

All provinces and highly urbanized cities are required to have a Bahay Pag-Asa according to RA 9344 as amended.

BPA Biliran’s Accreditation Milestone: Advancing through the Support to BPA Project

This year, the BPA Biliran achieved the Level 3 Certificate of Accreditation, the highest level of accreditation for Local Government Unit (LGU) managed centers and residential care facilities from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). A level 3 upgrade was made possible through the assistance provided by the Support to Bahay Pag-Asa Project. The Support to BPA Project focuses on assisting BPAs in providing quality service for the children under their care, making them fully prepared for their reintegration into the community. Since 2022, the project provided subsidies for the BPA’s daily operational expenses, training for BPA staff and residents, and repair and maintenance of structures. As of December 2023, the project already assisted 108 BPA facilities with 2,359 residents. Dahil sa Bagong Pilipinas, Bawat Bata May Pag-asa! Central Visayas’ Good Practice in the Implementation of Diversion

Dahil sa partnership na ito ng Magone Home Aftercare Program (MHAP), isang non-government organization, at ng mga LGU sa Central Visayas Region, nabibigyan ng mga epektibong programa ang mga child in conflict with the law o CICL para sa patuloy nilang pagbabago. Ayon kay Bro. Louie Domasian, Program Director ng MHAP, dahil sa mga ito ang CICL pa mismo ang nagiging mabuting halimbawa sa kanilang komunidad pagtapos ng kanilang diversion program.

Success Story of a Former CICL Mr. Rustie Quintana

CANVAS NG BUHAY NG ISANG DATING CICL

Dating CICL at lumaki sa lansangan si Rustie. Nang makalabas sa Regional Rehabilitation Center for the Youth (RRCY) ng Region X, nakapagtapos siya ng kolehiyo sa Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan. Mula rito ay sumali siya sa mga NGO na tumutulong sa mga gaya niyang batang lansangan. Ngayon ay may sarili na siyang bamboo tattoo shop sa Siargao Island.
