The Balay Namnama (Bahay Pag-asa) located in Sta. Rita, Bacnotan, La Union is set to operate and start admitting Children-in-Conflict with the Law (CICL) on May 2, 2022. In preparation for this momentous event, the Provincial Government of La Union through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office conducted an orientation for Barangay/Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (B/MCPC) officers and members including residents from the neighborhood on April 26, 2022, inside the said facility.

In line with this year’s 16th Anniversary Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (JJWA) as amended, the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) launches the SEARCH FOR GOOD PRACTICES ON DIVERSION.
The Search is open to all Barangay Government, Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC), and NGO Partners doing Diversion Programs in coordination with the Barangay Government or the BCPC. This contest aims to recognize the initiatives and good practices by barangays and their NGO Partners in the implementation of the Diversion Program as spelled out in the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act.

The Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) invites implementers of the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (JJWA) to join the Search for Good Practices of Barangays and Non-Government Organization (NGO) Partners Implementing the Diversion Program and take pride in their efforts and strategies in the implementing the law.
